Metrica: Warehouse Optimization System

How many people are needed, which item belongs in which location, where should you intervene? Today these questions are answered on experience or in Excel. Metrica calculates the best answer, using the data from your WMS and ERP as its starting point.

Metrica is tailored to the specific needs of your warehouse and is up and running within two months.

Planning

Metrica aligns staff, transport, docks and workload with what is coming to the warehouse in the days ahead. It takes stock levels, delivery dates, transport mode and available capacity into account, and shows per day and per team where the workload peaks.

When something changes, such as a delayed shipment or extra orders, Metrica recalculates the plan. The planner sees in advance where the bottlenecks are, rather than afterwards.

Slotting

Metrica determines which item belongs in which location, based on expected demand, dimensions, weight and the layout of your warehouse. Fast movers get the best locations, heavy items go at an ergonomic height.

The guiding principle is to move as little as possible. When a location becomes empty, it gets the item that fits it best. Metrica only proposes physical moves when they yield more than the work they cost. This way the layout improves step by step, without a major reorganization.

Try it with your own data

The heatmap shows where pick activity in your warehouse is concentrated: which aisles are busiest, where travel routes get long and which locations generate a disproportionate share of the work. That is the starting point for better slotting.

Metrica uses your data only during the session and stores nothing.

Optimization on top of WMS

Your WMS executes, Metrica optimizes. That is the role of a Warehouse Optimization System: it takes the data from your WMS and ERP, calculates the best solution and returns the result. Your existing systems remain the system of record.

Tailored to your warehouse

The integrations and the model are tailored to your processes and systems. Thanks to the defined scope, a module is usually up and running within two months.

Structural improvement

By capturing knowledge and decisions in calculation rules, control becomes less dependent on individual experience. This keeps the warehouse manageable, even as volume and complexity grow.

Technology

Metrica is built on the principles of Highly Competitive Warehouse Management and scientific research into warehouse optimization, translated into practical applications.

Optimization
Solvers from operations research find the best solution within your constraints.

Forecasting
Forecasting and machine learning predict demand and workload based on history and patterns.

Integrations
API integrations with ERP and WMS, so data flows back and forth automatically.

Document processing
OCR reads documents such as packing slips and cargo manifests automatically.

External data
Data from external sources, such as vessel arrival times, is retrieved automatically.
